About Judge Knepp

Judge KneppJudge Linda Knepp was appointed to the Bench by Governor Mike DeWine in June of 2021. At that time, Judge Knepp was serving as a Magistrate with the Lucas County Probate Court. She spent the first 19 years of her legal career with the Lucas County Child Support Enforcement Agency, as both a trial attorney and an administrative hearing officer. Additionally, Judge Knepp worked three years with the Lucas County Auditor’s Office, where she presided over the Board of Revision. She also served as an Assistant Lucas County Prosecuting Attorney in the Juvenile Division. In 2012, Judge Knepp pursued an opportunity working with the Adult Probation Department of the Common Pleas Court, where she implemented a program of close supervision in lieu of custodial treatment. During that time, she also facilitated group sessions in cognitive behavioral therapy (“Thinking for a Change”).

Judge Knepp received her law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law, and her undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

Judge Knepp has been appointed by the Ohio Judicial College to serve on the Juvenile Law & Procedure Committee as well as the Specialized Dockets Committee. She is a member of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, as well as the Ohio State Bar Association and Toledo Bar Association.

Judge Knepp is a member of the University of Toledo Law Alumni Board and the Davis College Foundation Board. Additionally, she is a member of the St. Thomas More Society of the Diocese of Toledo.

Judge Knepp is married to Judge James Knepp of the United States District Court and they have two children. The family is completed with two dogs and a cat.
